Edward Rafferty is an orphan, a soldier and an intelligence officer. In his world, happiness comes as fleeting gifts like capsules of oxygen to a suffocating man. There are soldiers and spies, actors and politicians. He lives in a world where happy-ever-after does not exist. It is a world of secrets, conflict and death.
